A program for couples living with illness or health-related challenges
Maintaining a satisfying relationship can be hard work even in the best of times, and illness or health-related challenges can make it even harder. Rx for Your Relationship exists to help you and your partner minimize the impact of illness on your life together through a creative mix of interative classes.
In a series of interactive sessions, Rx for Your Relationship helps you learn and apply skills to manage the challenges related to maintaining a healthy couple relationship when coping with a serious illness or health related challenge.
When you know how to take charge as a couple, health challenges don't have to overwhelm your relationship.

- Improve communication and problem solving skills
- Manage health challenges as a team
- Have a more fulfilling relationship.
Workshop Topics Include:
- Communication and Problem Solving: Face challenges and opportunities together. Learn how to communicate effectively about even the most difficult issues.
- Adapt and Adjust: Learn how to communicate about financial issues and household responsibilities, and plan for your future as a couple.
- Expectations - What's Reasonable and What's Not: Changes in one's health bring changes in daily routines and rituals. Learn how to manage expectations in ways that support and encourage your couple relationship.
- Intimacy - Staying Close and Connected: Learn creative ways to address and overcome some of the tough and tender issues in your relationship.
- Stay Connected - Having Fun Together: Illness and health concerns can interfere with the things you enjoy doing together. Learn how to keep the fun in your relationship in new and creative ways.
Who is this Workshop For?
- Rx for Your Relationship is designed for couples who are dealing with health related issues, such as heart attack, stroke, MS and other neurological disorders, cancer, or any health complication or challenge that's putting a strain on their relationship.
How is this Workshop Usually Offered?
- Open enrollment allows participants to take part whenever they're ready and feel able.
