Your wedding ceremony probably said something about how “two people become one.” But your children likely didn’t write the script. And they probably have their own ideas about what this all means.

Marriages are challenging, bringing compromises and changes. The thing about a stepfamily is that the wedding doesn’t make two families into one. It makes two families into three – his, hers, and theirs.

Being a stepcouple brings unique challenges and hurdles, because it’s not just two people forming a household. You’re a new player in the game, who’s role in the family might not be clearly defined. Plus, you’re living with people who already have patterns and habits established – one’s you don’t have any control over.

At Operation Us, we think it’s important that your couple relationship not get forgotten amid issues of kids and ex-spouses. That’s why we’re offering workshops that focus on better communication and healthy conflict management. And, believe it or not, what you learn will even help you with your ex!

What Workshops Are Right for You?

Survival Skills for Stepcouples

This workshop is specifically designed for couples who brought (or are bringing) two families together. You’ll learn about building healthy relationship within your family, both with your partner and with your partner’s kids. Unlike our other workshops, this one specifically addresses adult-child relationships and communication.

Hitched & Happy

This hands-on, interactive workshop shows couple how to have safer, healthier relationships. Workshop activities take research proven, time tested knowledge and information and present it in creative ways. Beyond learning to talk with each other, couples learn more about each other.

Couple Connection

Based on the PREP program, these workshops provide useful information to any couple – dating, married, or remarried. You’ll learn valuable communication and conflict management skills, while focusing on building a strong, healthy couple relationship.
